Blizzard has a habit of making their first-person shooter free to play when they add new content to the game. That said, get ready for another Overwatch free weekend coming really soon.
Call your friends
Blizzard has some good news for those who are looking to try their game. Those who still don’t have a copy can test the game during the Overwatch free weekend next week! From Nov. 17-20, gamers can download a copy of the game on PC, PS4, or Xbox One and play without charge.
That said, all 26 heroes will be available to play, which is interesting since Blizzard has yet to patch in Moira in the live servers. Similarly, all 16 maps will also be available to play, including Quick Play, Custom Games, and the Arcade. Needless to say, newcomers won’t be able to play the Competitive mode for obvious reasons. However, they can still level up and earn loot boxes to unlock various collectibles and cosmetics for the characters.
If you eventually decide to buy the game, all of your stats from the free weekend will carry over. Just make sure you use the same account you played on.
New content coming
In line with the free weekend, Blizzard has a lot of new content for the game. First off, it seems like Moira will be coming to the live servers before the free weekend. She is a Support hero who relies on draining health to heal her allies.
They will also be releasing a new map, Blizzard World, next year. This is a hybrid area with a control point and payload, similar to King’s Row. Finally, they also have a set of crossover and cinematic skins that will not be tied to any seasonal event.
Those who want to play the game can join in on the Overwatch free weekend next week.
