After last year, players have been waiting for news regarding this year’s Halloween Terror Event. While they were happy to know that the event will run from October 2, but there is more in store, and that is, Overwatch Halloween Skins!
Overwatch Halloween Skins?
Blizzard announced the event this Friday, with 2 skins for Reaper and McCree shown in a twitter video. However, three more skins were leaked last night on this Reddit thread, and featured new looks for Mei, Symmetra and Zenyatta. You can check them out in the thread above.
These Overwatch Halloween skins look pretty dope, and are actually related to old Chinese folklore and history. For example, the halloween skin for Mei is easily recognizable as a reference to the Chinese hopping vampire, Jaingshi. Zenyatta’s skin appears to reference to Cthulhu, a tentacle creature designed by H.P. Lovecraft, a horror visionary.
What will we get in this event?
We do not currently know what will be featured in this Halloween update aside from the Overwatch Halloween Skins. However, last year was pretty blazing in terms of changes and collectibles. Prior to this year, the last event featured over 100 new cosmetic items from glowing jack-o-lanterns, which were a replacement for the ever-loved loot boxes. We can also expect the return of Junkenstein’s Revenge, the first PvE mode ever featured in the game.
What do you think Blizzard will add in this update? Do you want any new stuff? Or do you want the event to be same as last year? Sound off in the comments below!
