Overwatch Season 6 finally ends this week, bringing a close to the current competitive season. Blizzard had previously mentioned that they are drastically cutting the time span for each competitive season. You still have a bit of time to compete for more CP and SR.
Overwatch Season 6 rewards
The current competitive season is slated to end later this week. Players had two months to try, climb, and compete with the hopes of achieving their desired rank. That said, the season will end on Oct. 28 at 5 pm PT, as per the post on the game’s official forum.
Current progress will stop there and all rewards will be based on your rank. Blizzard will reward fans with a special spray and player icon if they competed. Meanwhile, those who achieved the top 500 status will earn an extra player icon and an animated spray on top of the current rewards.
Players will also earn Competitive Points (CP) based on their Skill Rating (SR). Take note that conversion is slightly lower for Overwatch Season 6. Here’s the breakdown for this season:
SR 1-1499 (Bronze): 65 CP
SR 1500-1999 (Silver): 125 CP
SR 2000-2499 (Gold): 250 CP
SR 2500-2999 (Platinum): 500 CP
SR 3000-3499 (Diamond): 750 CP
SR 3500-3999 (Master): 1250 CP
SR 4000-5000 (Grandmaster): 1750 CP
Luckily, you won’t have to wait much longer for season 7. Blizzard has announced that fans will be able to compete again three days later on Oct. 31. The new season comes with another set of placement matches and new SR.
Blizzard had been testing out some new regulations during the current season. It seems like they will continue with the shorter seasons to keep players engaged which, in turn, should reduce the number of throwers in the game. Those who want to grind to the Grandmaster rank still have a bit of time before Overwatch Season 6 finally ends. You can play Blizzard’s first-person shooter on the PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
