The Game Awards nominees have finally been revealed with games like Super Mario Odyssey, Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Persona 5, and PlayerUnknown’s Battleground. Is a PUBG award on the way?
PUBG Award coming?
It’s that time of the year again and fans have the chance to vote for the best game this year. The contenders are strong with Nintendo managing to earn two spots with Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey. Meanwhile, Sony claps back with Persona 5 and Horizon Zero Dawn. PUBG is also a popular contender because of its large fan base and continuous popularity.
Aside from the GOTY award, PUBG was also nominated under other categories, like Best Ongoing Game and Best Multiplayer. It’s fighting against other titles like Overwatch and Fortnite, but with its intense popularity, there could be a chance it will win at least one award. If you want to support PUBg or your other favorite games, make sure to vote here.
That aside, PUBG is getting a stream of new content in the coming months. Firstly, the latest test server is now live and brings in some interesting new features. Firstly, the climbing and vaulting feature is finally here. Players can now cross obstacles without having to time their awkward jumps.
Bluehole is also looking into more “realistic” gunfights by tweaking the ballistics. While the changes might seem extreme, they assured that most of them are experimental. It’s still unsure what parameters they will patch over to the live servers when it arrives. Similarly, they will also be launching a new desert map soon.
With such dedication to the fanbase, a PUBG award doesn’t seem too far off. Those who want to play the game can grab it as an Early Access title on Steam. The final version will release later next month.
