The PUBG Xbox One X edition has just gotten a release date. Following a recent announcement, Bluehole finally revealed when the popular action game will be arriving on the console.

As per a recent Bluehole press release, they revealed that PUBG will be coming to the Xbox One X on Dec. 12. Using the Xbox Game Preview Program, fans will be able to play the game in Early Access. However, it seems like the console version might play out a little differently than the one currently on the PC.

InThe CEO of PUBG Corp, Chang Han Kim, claimed, “We’re approaching development on Xbox One with the same community-driven focus that we’ve taken with the game on PC,” That said, the experience on the Xbox One will “be slightly different” than the PC version. They have their own separate roadmaps as the console version’s features and functionalities will slowly be patched in, just like the PC version.

They plan to align both versions together eventually, but it seems like the PC version will get new content first. That said, the PUBG Xbox One X edition will be getting three cosmetic packs: PUBG Warrior Pack, the PUBG Accessory Pack, and the PUBG Tracksuit Pack. These packs will be exclusive to the console when it finally launches.

Porting to other consoles?

One interesting tidbit from the press release was that Bluehole mentioned that the game is only a “console launch exclusive.” This heavily implies that the game might be coming over to other consoles in the future. Bluehole has been in talks with other gaming companies in the past, so it isn’t all too surprising.

For now, players can enjoy the PUBG Xbox One X version when it launches later this year. Alternatively, players can still get the Early Access copy via Steam.
